What would you suggest?

I have played Aion in the past - primarily after it was released. I got my Gladiator up to 42, and then a bunch of alts in the 20's. This was back when the grind was considerably grindier and for one reason or another, I left Aion behind. Once it was F2P, I poked my head through the door a couple of times, but didn't stick to it. Now, with little interest in other MMO's on the market (grateful to have SWG back, but I've hit a wall with that until the project is finished) I've given Aion another shot and seem to have rekindled my love for it - especially given how much easier it is to level and how much gear is thrown at you.

I did some research on which server was best suited for me and chose Siel as home, due to being the most balanced in terms of end-game PvP and relatively active. So I've now rerolled my Gladiator and got him up to 36 (wtf at how easy it is to get my Kromede's spear again - that thing took MONTHS to land on my previous Glad) and I also wanted to mess around with one of the new classes, Gunslinger, so he's sitting at 23.

PvP is my end-game - I got burnt out on raiding back in vanilla WoW and nothing can ever capture my interest like PvP. Also, my time available for video games at this point, is relatively casual or maybe "heavy casual" if that makes sense. Given those two factors, some research I've been doing on end-game PvP has now got me a bit discouraged and uncertain of how to proceed.

From what I've read and the little experience I've had, it seems Gladiator and to a lesser extent, melee in general, is kinda low man on the totem pole in Aion. Yeah, yeah, with uber gear (again, I don't have time for that grind) and an extendable (probably don't have time to obtain that either), you can be DECENT in smaller scale PvP and very effective in group play. That's all fine and dandy, but personally, I want and need to know I can handle myself 1vs1 with the class I play. I'm fine with having 1-2 classes being counter, but when 1/2 or more of the classes can roll you pretty easily, that's not fun. Again, I know some of you are thinking "Oh whatever, my gladiator stomps all but 2 of the other classes." - no, it doesn't - against undergeared, underskilled, or ping-doomed opponents, sure - but I'm talking about straight up, equally geared and skilled fights where the outcome rests on class alone, with a dash of rng. I don't want to only be able to whoop on the low-end players - I want to compete with the top dogs (IF I were to put in the time to get the gear).

I've heard something about a stigma change to MR or MS that will supposedly make a huge difference for Gladiator vs Magic, but that remains to be seen (if someone is more educated on that upcoming change and can make a strong arguement for how much better off Glad will be - I'd appreciate hearing it). But overall, even from the "best" players, the consensus seems to be, for Gladiator, it's avoid 1vs1 and enjoy AOE spamming in a group. That doesn't appeal to me, despite Gladiator being my favorite class. I want to play it, I want to have faith in it, but I can't at the momoment, so I'm not sure what to do. Being viable at end-game PvP (group AND 1vs1, 2vs2) is more important to me than playing my favorite class.

As for Gunslinger, I also enjoy that, though I'd prefer melee - if I have to go ranged, it's the most appealing (Sorc is alright, but pretty standard cc/nuke - SM can diaf - Ranger is alright, but if I'm going ranged, I want magic - healing/hybrid will be the last thing I do). It's overpowered, I know - but fun. My apprenhension with going with the Gunslinger, is knowing how hated it is. Receiving props in a video game may not be all that important, but it is part of the fun of end-game PvP. Knowing I will be looked over, if not ridiculed due to playing a Gunner, I'm wondering if I should forget it. It's a bummer, cuz it really is more fun for me (I'm a big Old West fan - BillHickok was taken so I had to go with SethBullock ^.^) and I'd love if it were slightly less OP and more in line with maybe ranger.

So, given the above, what would you suggest I do? Go with some other class? Find another MMO? Stick with Glad because it will be fine in 1vs1 with upcoming changes? Go with gunner because who cares if you get no respect at end-game? I've got the drive to push one to 65 and see about end-game, but I don't want to invest a bunch of time and effort, only to have it get shelved in the end.

Really appreciate anyone who read through all that and any advice you can give.

Fire Gleeful Ladder replied to xform and flight time

Greetings, Daeva, We understand your frustration and appreciate you reaching out to the community for help. Not receiving a verification email is a common issue that many players have encountered across various games. We’ve checked the forums and have a few potential fixes you can try. Hopefully, one of these will help you get into the game!

Possible Fixes for Verification Email Issue

Check Your Email Folders: This may seem obvious, but it's the most common solution. Please check your spam, junk, and other filtered folders. Sometimes, a legitimate email can be mistakenly flagged and sent there. Add Aion to Your Whitelist: To prevent future emails from being blocked, add the official Aion email address (often something like `noreply@aiononline.com` or an equivalent from NCSoft/Gameforge) to your email account's contact list or whitelist. This tells your email provider that you trust the sender. Try a Different Email Provider: Some email providers, particularly those like Hotmail, Outlook, or Live, are known to be overly aggressive with their spam filters. If you used one of these, consider creating a new account with a different provider, such as Gmail, and try the registration process again. Many players report better success with services like Gmail. Wait for the Email: Depending on server load and other factors, there can sometimes be a significant delay in receiving the verification email. In some cases, it may take several hours or even a full day to arrive. If you've just created your account, we recommend waiting a while longer before assuming it's a bug. Contact Aion Support Directly: If none of the above steps work, the best course of action is to contact the official Aion support team. They have the tools to manually verify your account or provide a direct solution. You can typically find a link to their support portal on the official game website. They will likely ask for your account name and the email address you used. We hope this information helps, and we look forward to seeing you in Atreia soon! Feel free to update us if you find a solution that works for you, as it may help other players with the same problem. Best regards, The Forum Moderator Team
